About the Book

Using the traditional “Old Way” of the oral tradition rather than a normal book form, I, as an Elder-Teacher now, will personally share my life journey to my Ojibway-Onondaga northeastern Indian faith with you, the reader...

I will illustrate how a Creator-inspired life involving many “miracles” and “human angels” allowed me, a white man, to follow a positive life-view with serenity and contentment in my later years despite the social, economic, religious, and environmental crises the world faces today. Two Elder Teachers, an Onondaga lady and an Aztec man predicted years ago that I was destined to do this, and I believe that I am alive today by the Creator’s Will to offer you this story.

Come walk with me and I will tell of my traditional Native American vision, also a gift from the Creator, ome which directed me to give up my previous life to create the Institute for American Indian Studies. Now, in the completed building, I will be your guide as we tour the Museum. I will share what my northeastern Indian Elder-Teachers, and particularly Keewaydinoquay of the Ojibway Nation and Aldelphina Logan of the Onondaga Iroquois Confederacy, related to me about their beautiful, practical faith and the lifelong service they rendered as stewards of the Creator and Mother Earth.

I will share the teachings of Kee, Del, and others concerning so many profound and beautiful concepts, a few of them being: the Creator of us all and the daily and seasonal reminders of this ever-present “Aura”; the Birth, Wedding, and “Passing Over” Ceremonies (Indians do not “die”); the role of Human Beings in the Creator’s world, and how Humans should view such things as Father Sun, Mother Earth, Grandmother Moon, the plants and the animals; and the Native American ways of Healing and seeking guidance through Visions such as mine.
